It was a cold winter day. Kiyoshi once again visited the old shrine on the edge of town. This was Kiyoshi's oasis. A sanctuary, for reasons unknown, he felt unusually at peace. It was a solitary shrine, where no one came. He was its sole patron. Then he met Midori, the young girl who in spite of only just meeting him, knew Kiyoshi.
